I welcome Laurence Besemer's statement on behalf of FOIL. The primary objective must be to preserve the ability of the innocent victim of an accident to easily recover his / her legitimate losses. The Autumn Statement proposals will dissuade them from doing so, as the court process is unfamiliar & complicated. Furthermore, if they are off work injured, the costs and court fees etc may be too much for them to proceed, leaving them out of pocket. This is a strong statement from Laurence and FOIL, which should be applauded as supporting the interests of justice for the innocent accident victim.
