I hope SRA keeps a log of complainers as well as one of the solicitors complained about. I heard a story of one big client who transferred his litigation, which was about three months off the trial date, to a second solicitor. The latter requested the files, rubbing his hands with glee. When four weeks off the trial date he asked yet again for money on account he heard from a third solicitor asking for the files. When he asked his client for an explanation he was simply told that if he didn't shut up and hand over the files he world be reported and a claim would be made. I believe that the third solicitor was treated in the same way. Of course, the first one had been too.

I'm glad I'm out of it.
