I find Jonathan Massey's ignorant and discriminatory comments quite disappointing. CILEx lawyers are exactly that - lawyers. The legal profession as a whole will not command the respect and standing that it needs until it moves away from its, frankly, outdated obsession with title, and addresses the really important question: what skills, experience and expertise do you have and how can you use these to help clients? I do agree that a degree or degree level learning (which the vast majority of CILEx lawyers have) should be a prerequisite for entry to any of the current "branches", but just because someone has gained some archaic title that is almost meaningless in today's world does not make them any better a lawyer than any one else.
