By banning all fee-charging McKenzie Friends I fail to see how this protects ‘vulnerable litigants’ who would then have to attend Court themselves unprepared and unsupported especially when they have experience DV and cannot access LA. The article is assuming all fee- charging MF's are unregulated and uninsured individuals - what about those of us who are members of the Institute of Paralegals?

I also agree that Society of Professional McKenzie Friends has raised the bar far to high "the society’s 29 members all have professional indemnity insurance and a minimum of A-level law or three years' "full-time experience" - what about those of us who choose to work part time or have prior experience that is relevant to the role? as for charging £80 an hour - I wish!

There are a number of MF's who operate over and above what the true role is and it is they who should be targeted not those of us who charge just enough to cover expenses and are genuinely there for the client (and children in Family Law).
