As a Prof McF I am there to Advise & Assist my client in dealing with the overly complex English Legal System. My CIC firm exists on donations only. I never charge a fee. But supply my 25 years as a High Street solicitor to the community for the benefit of the client. I do not expect to be asked by the Judge to speak for my client, but it happens frequently in the Family Courts where the system is "designed" to be accessed by the LIP. At the end of the day, if it was not for me offering the services for free/donation my clients would be over whelmed without the backing of Legal Aid.
Seems to me, the individuals access to Justice is so far degraded, we might as well just do away with the Justice system totally and just let the parties fight it out. At the moment it is whoever can afford the best legal representation wins!
