David, you seem to be the only one here with expertise in non-common law domains. It would be interesting to know why Napoleonic law so limits your ability to do what you like with your money - and, if you know, how this is treated in other - I don't know the proper name - Roman/Civil law jurisdictions. In fact, thank you, David, for revealing to me that behind these legal distinctions, there must be an altogether different way of thinking about private/public rights/responsibilities to the one we think utterly obvious and natural .
