My cursory reading of the appeals, and of what's going to be under discussion before the SC, suggests that the appeal won't address the nub of the issue.
The original District Judge found as a matter of fact that the deceased had failed to make adequate provision, and the appeals accepted this as inviolable, and then went on to decide the only question that remained to be decided, which was how much that reasonable financial provision was, so that they could order it to be paid.
The thing I need to know when advising clients is whether or not they may reliably disinherit their adult, non-dependent children, and I don't think this appeal will answer that question.
