"Napoleon", Michael, is I think the term you might be after. Well, it's the nearest one I can think of off hand anyway...Or, perhaps, 'Halifax' i e "give in to them 'cos they're just too strong for us to oppose", or possibly 'collaborators' as in France in WW2.

I was reflecting earlier on a visit to Cyprus I recently made with my girlfriend. I went into one or two estate agents. They pointed out that the government there was offering dual nationality to anyone who wanted it and who paid 250,000 Euros or more for a property. The Russians were buying like hot cakes and thereby acquiring dual Russian and Cypriot nationality. The point was that that enabled them to live and work in any EU country they chose.
CORRUPT OR WHAT? as they might ask in The Sun.
