Sorry, My Lord, quite right and I had not noticed that predictive text correction. I do apologise, in particular to the Chester LAA office which I always found constructive and helpful.

I seem to recall, LB, that when Old Labour took legal aid away from uncontested divorce petitions (not ancillaries) in 1977 it indicated that it was considering introducing it for Industrial Tribunal (as they then were) work. Do you remember that? Of course, it never happened, but it helped to sweeten the bitter pill.

As Ian Lucas M P (Labour Wrexham) said to me in 1997 "There's no votes in saying you're going to pay lawyers more money, David". And that's what it's all about, votes. It has nothing to do with the general good of the working class, they can jolly well 'kiss my a..e'. But there are contributors on here who just don't get that and as long as they don't I'm afraid the writing's on the wall for legal aid.
