In my view when seeking to negotiate (for example in a JSM) it is good practice to make sure your opponent is well seated, has had the chance to go to the toilet, have a cup of tea / coffee etc and deal with the matter entirely absent personalities.

Making this a party political issue with the inference that the government and ministers are corrupt does not assist in the case that we are making and does not improve the reception that it will receive.

There are very good reasons to increase the SCT, there are very good grounds to argue that there are very small pockets of very significant misconduct in the PI sector but there is no sensible reason why people should persist with the name calling that does nothing to assist and can do a lot of unseen damage.

And for the avoidance of doubt, I am wholly against the proposals as they stand.
