The Portal isn't fit for purpose at all. That said, the only reason why defendants want low value credit hire claims dealt with under Par 7 is because they will be allocated to small claims track which is cheaper than Stage 3. If the value of the credit hire exceeded 10k, defendants would fight tooth and nail to keep it within the Portal. The defendant community's pathetic desperation to constantly make a saving would be amusing if it wasn't so nauseating.
