Even the ABI thinks only 7% of all motor claims contain a fraudulent element, and of that not all will be third party whiplash claims.

It is one thing to joke about making a claim on the basis that 'everyone's at it'. It's another to actually go ahead and do it - to tell a solicitor about your 'injury', to sit in front of a doctor and explain the specifics of your pain and not get caught out, to expect an (often hostile) insurance company to accept what you say, and ultimately to be prepared to sit in front of a judge and lie your head off.

Think of your friends and colleagues. What percentage of them do you have down as fraudsters? I can't think of any in my group of friends, and actually I would be pretty sure a number of them would refuse to make even genuine claims on principle. Maybe I don't know the right people?
