It's quite easy to run up a £200,000 bill in a boundary dispute. I know because I have done it. And I recovered most of it too, although I doubt I would under the present system. Proportionality is being applied according to a perverse, arbitrary and unreasonable principle. And anyway, as boundary disputes blight property values (try selling your house in the middle of such a dispute) the overall amount of costs should be assessed with regard to the full property value. We have taken leave of our senses.
