I ain't never seen a black man
I ain't never seen a white.
Where are they all hiding?
Do they only come out at night?
See! Just look around you.
There ain't one of them in 'ere
Are they afraid of coming?
Do we fill them up with fear?
Perhaps they live on mountains
far and far away.
Or deep down underneath the ground
away from light of day.
Tell me! Go on tell me!
Have you ever seen just one
whose skin is black as deepest night
or white as the whitest swan?
I've seen plenty who are pinkish
and plenty who are brown.
They're all around us everywhere
in countryside and town.
You'll find them on the buses,
in offices and trains.
You'll find them building houses,
mending bridges, cleaning drains.
But none of them have black skins
and none of them are white.
so perhaps they don't exist at all
and it's not they're out of sight.
So isn't it time we put an end
to this ridiculous lie
and treat people as just people
and let this silly lie just die?
