Music in my ears, I am semi-retired, I do very limited work now. Over the years this issue has never been addressed. I have seen it all. Practice was such a pleasure when we started in the 1980's It may have been there but never noticed it. But now it is blatant. The irony is that, people in responsible positions turn a blind eye to new mechanisms being used. e.g. You attend court as custody duty solicitor. A person is referred to you. At 12 noon a lawyer turns up with a file and says he is a former client and that he had been contacted to represent him. The alternative an Agent in court says a firm has just rung him and asked him to deal with the matter. Subtle mechanisms are in place by such operators. Some may be genuine but some are not.
