If all that has been alleged against Shiner is proved to be true this is precisely the sort of abuse which has caused the system of legal aid to fail and to be withdrawn. This is very similar to what happened to the Green Form Scheme in the 1980s. A few bent practitioners spoil things for everyone, practitioners and clients. They also make the headlines by which the general public judges the whole of the profession.

The sad thing is that practitioners such as the one from Newbridge (?) South Wales, who was recently struck off for helping himself to clients' money when his income stream dried up due to cutbacks in legal aid due to activities such as those alleged against ...Shiner.
