You are, of course, quite correct, Anon 3.24. Blair started all this with his lies, deceptions and dissembling. But whilst we are concerned with that generally, we are also concerned specifically with the conduct of this profession, our fellow professionals and reputation. This sort of conduct, if proved of course, is most reprehensible and the general public thinks, quite wrongly, that we are all up to these tricks and as corrupt as can be. Also legal aid is being (gradually) withdrawn completely to the disadvantage of both practitioners and their clients alike. That is a cause for great concern so far as the rule of law is concerned. And if you can't (afford to) go to law...you go to war.
