I'm a LIP, as a general rule, whenever I submit a paper argument it gets rejected, but at the oral hearing I get through. I suspect that sometimes I put too much detail on paper, and the judge really cannot be bothered to think it through, dismissing it no doubt because it does not conform to short, precise legal language. I, in general, go on to win most of the battles, and to date all of my wars. The proposal of, no automatic right to an oral hearing, will seriously curtail my chance of justice in the future should I need to take this route.
