I'm sorry, but what absolute nonsense.

I can see a common sense approach to the fusing of the professions, but with legal work becoming ever more risky, and difficult, surely the emphasis should be on professionalism, not a race to the bottom?

Would the man in the street be happy to see a 'legal adviser' without any sensible reference to his title? I doubt it. Clients always seem very happy to know they have a trusted 'kitemark' in seeing a qualified solicitor - and seem to have an understanding of the training behind gaining that difficult professional title.

Why is it that this continual meddling is allowed to occur? Accountants, far from suffering the same ill fate, seem to think they have open season to move into our territory - Medics enjoy protection, and respect.

I'd like to see a VERY firm reply, backed up with some action from The Law Society against these ridiculous proposals.

Lawyers are valued - they account for a good proportion of GDP and are absolutely vital to hold others to account. It's a frightening suggestion to think otherwise.
