I'd wondered what had happened to these two.

The headline is misleading. They were convicted and struck off, appealed successfully and conviction and sentence quashed, retried and convicted and struck off. One strike off surely?

I've just looked at the appeal judgment again. It's worth reading on the facts. Given the judge's findings the result doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm unconvinced by the moment of madness point from my reading of the judgment.

Their only way out was to admit the charges second time round, and then hope. This seems to me to be especially so for the junior offender.
