I posted a shorthand comment asking for additional clarity as to the representative's partnership which has been removed. I shall try a slightly longer comment in the hope that the concern I raised is not overlooked.

On reading the article it struck me as surprising that a representative of costs lawyers would make a comment in favour of fixed costs, which would remove the need for costs lawyers for those cases and so decimate membership of his organisation. I am aware that some costs lawyers have spoken out against fixed costs.

I then used a popular internet search facility and discovered details of his partnership - a firm which represents insurance companies and their clients.

I am aware that some insurers have spoken positively in favour of fixed costs.

I found this to be relevant in my consideration of the comments attributed to him above. I am disappointed that my factual comment of the gentleman's employer has been removed.
