Anon 16:57 - unless you are involved with the setting of damages for injuries then your opinion is worthless.

For what it is worth, damages for injuries has not kept up with the times and even the post-LASPO uplift of 10% is routinely ignored by insurers, £400 for significant pain followed by several months of improving recovery not only flies in the face of decades of past practice it is also a proverbial kick in the teeth.

By all means require medical evidence, and by all means do away with the storage and credit hire racket. Spot on and I agree with that completely. But don't do over the genuine claimants. to be perfectly honest I'm happy with my extra £40 premium (or whatever the latest estimate is) in the knowledge that if I get clobbered by another car that I am entitled to claim if I am injured.

For the "£400 club" or whatever it was called, there was a judgment that said this had to be repaid if a stage 2 pack was not forthcoming. What are the insurers doing about that I wonder? Go get 'em boys then stop bleating.
