Anon @13.43 - surely the principle of insurance is that the many pay for the few - i.e. The individual policyholder is not a profit centre in his own right, but the wide book of policyholders cover the losses and give a profit. I have been a driver for 42 years - not a single claim - I reckon my premiums are covering plenty of claims for other people over the years and happy to do so - it's why insurance exists. I have a number of very good friends in the insurance industry - all took ear.y retirement with great pensions, two houses - or in one case four houses - all paid for, enough money in the bank to enjoy a great lifestyle - their pay was in the many hundreds of thousands a year - so I hardly think the insurers are living hand-to-mouth - they make profits I can assure you - and spend it on meerkats from what I can see!!
