I think the problem is that the courts and judges entertain these emails in the first place.

First email to the court saying 'Dear your honour, they've changed the case number on one of the documents and my wife thinks it isn't fair and ...' should be met with an immediate and robust response.

Dear LIP. If you are asking for a judge to make a decision or order you must:- a. Tell your opponent what you want and why, using form N244; b. Send a copy of that form to the court; and, c. Pay the fee of £255.

Other correspondence will be deleted and ignored.

But the problem is they don't, they entertain email without notice applications which immediately makes the LiP feel reassured that they know what they're doing, that they're able to get one over on the other side by telling 'the judge' what they think, and ultimately that they are brilliant at this litigation malarkey.

You reap what you sew and in reality the nonsence philiosophy of the CPR (judicial case management) is probably the root cause of this.
