I'm baffled by these comments. Very few lawyers do immigration appeal work, there's no legal aid and very few people who need to appeal can afford to pay, so why would solicitors be 'rubbing their hands'? Mostly shrugging their shoulders, I'd suggest. And if we had open borders for all we wouldn't have a backlog in immigration appeals, so you'd expect Mr Tomlinson, Mr Thomas and Ms Humble to be happy and keen to have more, rather than less. After all the object is to keep non-EU foreigners out! It's not EU nationals putting in appeals... though they may perhaps be adding more to the numbers after we've left.
