There is an important balance to strike between access to justice and parasitic practices within the personal injury sector.

There is certainly an argument that the small claims limit increase will cause disparity between representation for claimants and defendants in personal injury claims. However, what also concerns me is the "access to justice" rhetoric utilised by some, when "self-preservation" is quite clearly what they actually mean.

I saw a fellow solicitor on LinkedIn post the following:

"PI reforms are looming but we still have a good year/year n half to make some serious paper."

That is a verbatim quote. It's concerning that this is the attitude of some so-called professionals. It was more even more concerning to see many agreeing with him. Yet the chant is "access to justice". Your post does no favours to your cause.

With that said, I genuinely feel for those who care about their clients and the work that they conduct on their behalf, but who now find themselves at risk of redundancy as a result of the pending reforms. I am glad I don't operate in the personal injury sector.
