You are all assuming that our trainees stay on less than the minimum for the whole training contract. They don't, having been trained well they become good fee earners and get paid accordingly..They aren't a burden, though their useless post grad courses are, they feel totally frustrated by those courses. Our retention rate is very good, trainees are a long term investment not cheap fodder. I realise that by putting my head above the parapet I'll be slated. So be it, but it's got to be said. This is a business not a charity offering just because someone decided to do a law degree the world doesn't owe them a living. Everyone who gets through a training contract busts a gut, we ain't selling baked beans, we are selling a high quality service that requires investment by us and our trainees. I repeat my question, how many extra traineeships have been offered since the rules were relaxed?
