Given the billions at stake and the expressions of approval in government for Uber, perhaps employment law will eventually change so that if you sign up as an Uber driver, there will be no doubt that you're an independent contractor. I'm no great fan of Uber but can you really see them going away ? Disruptive industries challenge existing law head on until they get their way - litigation funding is just one example.
