Firstly, if the use of add-on cover to claim legal assistance below £5,000 becomes widespread, insurers will increase the original house or car cover premiums to which the add-on LEI cover attaches as a low-cost extra. Secondly, by making a claim on their policy, the insureds mentioned in the article would have indirectly increased their own premiums for their next year's cover as claims have to be paid for, one way or another. ... Can't have your cake and eat it too unfortunately. ..."

Thats not what the Insurance Industry were saying he they had Legal Aid (inc Advice and Assistance through Green Form), in their sights and were systematically embarking on a course to destroy it. The then said they would take over and offer representation at market rates and below that of the costs of Legal Aid.

Obviously the Govt and public fell for the misinformation ...
