I do have a connection with the industry, in regards to the term "national joke" you simply need to look at volume of "whiplash" or "mild sprain" injuries in comparison to other countries.
I agree the numbers are dropping but I would suggest that simply due to the excessive volume of "phantom claims for stage 1 costs" that plagued the industry about 7/8 years finally being sorted with the last previous set of reforms, having a "mild sprain" after an accident to me does not entitle somebody to claim £1000+ its that simple for the large majority of the claims presented and the only person who will disagree is a paralegal fee earner hoping for at least £600 costs.
Out of pocket expenses and rehabilitation is the way forward and the end to large scale factories of paralegals who's ONLY concern is targets and not clients, my job will be on the line due to these reforms but frankly they are long overdue and the PI Claimant Sector gets and will continue to receive no sympathy with the vast majority of the population hence why the public is not up in arms about their own loss of "access to justice"
