Unfortunately a few years ago i had about £10,000 worth of Legal aid Criminal bills disallowed 100% as out of time . I should have appealed but didnt . What i did not do is try to falsify the dates of comp-letion of work . i just too the hit despite being a sole practitioner and this representing a fair chunk of my income .
Its tough but we are required as Solicitors to abide by a standard of behavior that is much higher than the rest of society . So the SRA disciplinary decision is harsh but in line with the standards required of us all.
