I'm quite militant on the issue of fees. I have now stopped representing clients where the case is going to the CC and the CC free for a guilty plea is less than a LSF in the Mags. My view is that if I continue to deal with these cases I am paying to do the work and that's just not how you run a business.

As to s38 work if the fees are reduced to legal aid rates I wont do the work and if the LAA are daft enough to bring the cross examination into the contract I will have sufficient diary conflicts to be able to say I am not available.

Let us be honest the fees aren't adequate and since the introduction of the LGFS never have been.
