We don't know what the original damages request was either so maybe the NHS rightly disputed this rather than rolling over and simply paying, you have pointed out the major issue here, solicitors know full well the cost of arguing claims mostly outweigh the benefits and have played on this for decades so don't pretend to claim a high moral ground for defendant solicitors again the general public have no love for this sector and I hope Clinical Negligence reforms swiftly come under the spot light to try and save our NHS from the parasites
