No news as yet, Rayner, from Thompsons. Perhaps they have had to send their file off to their former client's new solicitors...

On the 'winners subsidise the losers' issue, if, say, each case generates an average of £10,000 in costs and you have ten cases on, nine of which fail, but one succeeds, the former have run up £90,000 which have to be recovered on the one winner's file so the bill there has to be £100,000.

You only have to state the proposition to see how absurd it is. Abuse did for the Green Form scheme in the 1980s and it will do for the NHS if things carry on as they are going. Is it any wonder that NHS LA makes them prove claimant's names, address and date of birth. I would be disappointed if they didn't.
