Imagine we were still riding round on horseback because the combustion engine hadn't been invented.

Then imagine that someone invented a form of propulsion that would revolutionize transport, where we would climb into metal boxes that would head towards each other at a closing impact of between 60 and 140 mph with the safety being reliant on human error.

Health and safety would have a field day.

Getting into a car involves an element of risk, why don't we just accept that?
