To that German speaker. I reply to your 3 points.

1. Welsh is the national language of Wales. English is the national language of England and only England. It is the official, or majority, language in numerous countries.

2. What happened to the Welsh language from 1535 to 1993 is a vital part of our national history and its repercussions have to be rectified. It must not be forgotten.

3. This is important. I attend many meetings most of which have an interpretation system and people are encouraged to speak Welsh.
Those who only speak to each other in Welsh and do so in the hearing of non Welsh speakers are in no way rude. Just look at England it has many non English speaking immigrants and I doubt if there is an English person who thinks speaking English to their partner about their next meal can possibly be rude. How can speaking Welsh in Wales or German in Germany be considered rude?
Neil
