As a COFA for my firm, I think the SRA are right to sweep away all of these prescriptive Solicitors Accounts Rules. A lot of the technical rules are totally unnecessary and result in technical breaches where there is no risk to client monies. The bottom line is that client monies must be protected. It's a simple enough concept. This will save us time and money in trying to police these prescriptive rules throughout the firm.
