There is an answer to this: Instead of running to the government why don't the holiday companies just fight any claims they feel are dodgy, allege fraud and aggressively pursue costs against any losing Claimant? They could publicise their successes and name and shame any CMC or solicitor involved. The dodgy claims would soon dry up leaving those genuinely affected with a remedy.
