Oh come, Mr Goldsmith! that is tendentious stuff, even for you. And yes, I know it emanates from the Commission, but you make no show of dissent. If Europeans here are bound by British law and Britons there are bound by European law, that is true reciprocity, is it not? You might as well say that it's unfair for Englishmen living in China to be bound by Chinese law, seeing that Chinese people in England get so much better a deal. If the EU states genuinely do have "more favourable" laws than apply in the UK (doubtful at best), that is by their own choice - and virtue, after all, is its own reward. Isn't that the true liberal philosophy?
