The lax granting of Civil Legal Aid, without due checks can be the cause of injustice.

In my capacity as a small works builder 30 years ago, I had a rogue client procure the benefit of legal aid on the documented pack of lies contained within his Defence and Counterclaim document.

These deceptions were aided and abetted by a surveyor who issued a 7 paged 'expert' report in support of them.

5 years later, all of these lies were rejected by, and conceded to judge Arthur Hutchinson who also rejected in total the evidence of the 2 expert' witnesses for the defence.

Despite this, my rogue client was allowed to defeat my claim.

Why??? ----- Because my rogue client, ably assisted by his lawyers, was able to procure £32,000 worth of legal aid to evade a debt of just £6,173!

This was scandalous because, had I been allowed to win my case, as I should have done on the evidence, there might well have been a public outcry at this abuse of public monies, ----------- or, am I missing something somewhere?

I do not expect any answers or opinions but, I will answer any that this posting generates.
