I think your qualification 'at the moment' and its further implications have been missed by the media (not necessarily - and I'm a highly critical person - deliberately). Someone they will trust should explain this to the tenants and the bereaved.
And, come on, Joshua, 'they were merely doing what was required of them at the time': 'But I was just doing my job' - fraudulently selling insurance policies to people whom you knew didn't qualify, but you would benefit from your bonus. I got a couple of sour looks, but no challenge, when I said, to a group of people protesting about 'the Bankers', that it wasn't they who actually and knowingly made the transaction. Very unfortunately, it seems to me over the last 30 years, we won't get staff who will always deal honestly (which seems to have declined in meaning from the Archer-Shee standard I grew up with) unless they know that they, personally, may be held to account for being 'careless' with the truth.
Finally, you have only confirmed the other-worldliness of judges by saying that someone with his intelligence and education needed public relations advice; his lack of perception is demonstrated by the fact that, after seeing the scenes on TV, he didn't realise for himself that he didn't know how to handle it, or that a particular way of interaction was required in such circumstances.
