In my experience, much of the cynicism expressed by practitioners (and, for that matter, by my former Brother Whitehurst) is well founded; since retiring from the Bench and, through an Armed Forces charity, becoming involved in assisting ex service personnel, who do not have the means to fund the services of a solicitor, with their legal problems, I have become increasingly aware of just what a poor service HMCTS provides. It would be interesting to know whether Ms Acland-Hood has any experience, at the consumer end of her business, of the 'product' she has on offer.
