Pile 'em high and sell 'em low seems to be the motto that is slipping into the world of law, except the sell 'em low only applies to the lowly paid assistants who are generating a heck of a lot of the costs. The problem with the world of law at the moment (not just conveyancing) is that firms are favouring unqualified lower paid assistants or paralegals as they can get higher profits. That could lead to a drought of qualified Solicitors in years to come if NQ's are struggling to get training contracts now because a firm or Partners do not want to pay higher wages for a qualified Solicitor.

Solicitors are changing into document factories.
