'trained to take work directly from the client' ie been on a 1 day course . I am involved in a case at the moment where direct access counsel in on the other side . He claims to be unable to understand the nature of my client's claim as set out in correspondence and has suggested we 'simplify ' matters by drafting and exchanging pleadings whilst still at a pre-proceedings stage . Er - I think not .
