My point is that 'consented data' is often not 'consented data' it is 'consented data that has been sold on to someone outside the scope of the original consent or is not in fact passed on to a partner who has relevant beneficial information' and is therefore not 'consented data'.

After all, if you arrange an ISA and were interested in other means of savings, would you really consent to a plethora of calls about an accident? No.

So, ban cold calling and really tighten up both the consent process for calls and follow up with huge personal fines for anyone who breaches the rules.
