I see from the on-line blurb on AxaFizzy that the payout is a fixed compensation that is proportionate to the premium, and seems to be quite separate to the delay compensation claim under the EU regs. Although you do need to have a ticket for the flight that is insured.
I am wondering whether AXA will then recover the full amount ( which used to be called subrogation?) from the airline; or does the compensation claim still stand?
It would be nice to know, as my daughter seems to unerringly select delayed flights when I am supposed to pick her up from the airport. I could take out insurance in her name and benefit from the very boring wait when she turns up 5 hours late.
