I don't believe anon @ 10.10 was talking about comparing a Solicitor in London to one in the sticks but Solicitors in the same area. Also, your average Joe Bloggs generally has no idea of what fees are reasonable and generally does not shop around because of that, allowing a Grade A Solicitor in the sticks on standard PI claim to charge daft hourly rates. If the potential Clients have at least some basic comparators they can make more informed choices and maybe they will start to challenge the firms that charge excessively, bringing back some trust and respect to the profession.
