Personally I find it bizarre that the organisation that is supposed to be representing solicitors , TLS, is arguing that solicitors need more regulation, rather than less. The dear old Law Society is the only trade union that Margaret Thatcher would approve of in that it sh*fts the profession more than anyone else. Dare I say Veyo, or the CQS training litigation it lost, or the fact you have to pay money to join one of its 'groups' before it will allow you any help guidance or advice. They even sold the copyright in the conditions of sale to Oyez, so we have to buy a copy of our own conditions. Contrast with the RICS, who have tons of free helpful content for their members and don't charge to use either their excellent commercial lease, or their excellent auction conditions or any of their guides. Oh yeah, anyone notice that agents are charging ten times as much as us for property sales? Bring on more deregulation, lets have a level playing field with all the other 'providers of legal services' whether Mackenzie men, Google, LIPs, will writers, and the rest - the public seem to be unconcerned
