The law is the last bastion before anarchy; regulated lawyers are the pillars of it.

It's meant to be protective and difficult; it's far too important to society as a whole to dilute, dumb-down or be withered away.

Seems to me there are far too many egomaniacal twits in positions of power or authority, who appear incapable of looking behind their own desire for personal plaudits that they lose sight of, or have no concept of, the importance or real purpose behind anything.
