I completely agree with the comment below. Most people are unduly and unnecessary suspicious that solicitors will tip off a former client or someone they know (e.g. socially); I always have to assure them that is not the case. However, I can't imagine a client choosing my firm in these circumstances. Mistakes do happen and its always best (as a client) to be safe rather than sorry.

Also, Im surprised he ran the argument that it was his duty to disclose the address to H as H was his client. This is nonsense. If you have two clients, you (that is, the firm, of which you are a member) have the duty to maintain confidentiality. Where she has not consented to this address being disclosed, how on earth is it his duty to share it?? Solicitors are not obliged to rummage through confidential files and share the contents. That stupid justification was rightly given the risible response it deserved.
